Dorton Park is currently closed. The park closed on September 25, 2023 to begin renovations. The park is anticipated to reopen in Spring 2025. For more information, please call 704-920-5600.
The park design was adopted and approved by City Council on August 10, 2023. During the October 24, 2023 Second Work Session, City Council voted to eliminate a new restroom that was planned for the west side of the park.

Renovations to Existing Tennis Courts. Includes resurfacing all 3 courts. Additionally, one tennis court will have pickleball lines added, while the other two will have 10 and Under lines added.
Stream Restoration
Renovate Existing Buildings & Shelters. Renovations to the existing restroom building will be updated to include 6 family-style bathrooms.
New ADA accomodations. Renovations to the existing restroom will include an adult changing table - the first ever at a park within Cabarrus County, improving accessibility for residents.
