Project Updates

Progress continues on our City of Concord Parks & Recreation Bond Projects!

At J.E. Jim Ramseur Park, the City’s first new park in the northwest portion of the city, construction continues as crews begin work on the foundation for the basketball courts and begin work on the restroom and maintenance building. Crews also continue to install curbing throughout the park and began installation of the playground equipment. This project is still anticipated to be complete next summer!

Since we broke ground at the new David Philllips Park two months ago, crews have been very busy grading and clearing the area to make way for the new additions. Renovations to the current shelter are also underway as they work to expand the current shelter.

The final design plans for the Academy-Gibson Skate Park & Pump Track were approved during last month’s Council meeting, which puts us one step closer to beginning construction!

Hartsell Park, Poplar Tent Trailhead Park, Wilson Street Park, W.W. Flowe Park, and the Academy Recreation Center are all still in the design phase.

As a reminder, we’re hosting a community update meting on W.W. Flowe Park on Wednesday, September 30, drop in between 5 – 8 p.m. We hope you can make it!
