For more than 100 years, the Academy-Gibson Athletic Fields have been a place where community comes together to cheer on the hometown, and where dreams are made and friendships are formed. 

On October 6, 2025, Mayor Dusch, members of Council, and City leadership, were joined by legendary Coach E.Z. Smith in officially breaking ground on planned field renovations. The ceremony marked the start of a new chapter and continued legacy - ensuring the Academy-Gibson fields remain a place where sports teams and families can make memories for another 100 years.

As we look back in appreciation of our rich history born from Webb and Gibson fields, we’re excited for the many ways the bond renovations will enhance Our City, Our Parks, and Our Future.

As part of our Parks & Rec GO Bond project, Webb Field will be getting an upgraded press box, new restroom facilities, and artificial turf.
