Contract crews continue storm drainage work and grading at Caldwell Park. So far, the project schedule is still on track with the anticipated opening in Summer 2026.

A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on June 9 for the future J.E. "Jim" Ramseur Park. The notice to proceed with construction was given to the contractor, J.D. Goodrum, and work will soon begin on the new park. Construction is anticipated to take 2 years to compete, with a projected opening in Summer 2027.

Next, bid documents will be prepared and bidding will begin for the Academy-Gibson Athletic Fields and the David Phillips Park projects. The Academy-Gibson Skate Park and Pump Track, as well as Hartsell Park, are still in the design phase.
